I spent most of todays class getting caught up on my blog.
The first half of The Rainman is finished. Now we just need to film the car chase and we're mostly done.
Baseball Shot Plan
Camera 1: Camera 1 will be in the outfield zoomed in to capture the pitcher from behind throwing the ball and have a good view of the batter as he swings. If it’s a hit this camera will be in the back so it will be able to shoot the ball if it comes into the outfield and also have a wide shot of the whole field.
Camera 2: Camera 2 will be behind third base getting an alternate shot of the pitch and getting any close ups of the players that we may need. After the ball is hit this camera will stay on the person running the bases.
Camera 3: Camera 3 will be moving around mostly between Home plate and First Base. This camera will be responsible for shots of the crowd and any shots the other cameras can’t get. Mostly this camera should be kept on the batter as he is preparing to swing unless another shot is needed.
Director: The director will be placed preferably by Home Plate and First Base so he has a good view of the game and also to communicate better with camera 3. The director will be watching the game and keeping an eye out for good shots. He also needs to watch the monitors and know when to switch between shots. To do this he should be paying attention to the game so he knows what’s happening and has an idea of what will happen next so he can be prepared to switch between shots at a moment’s notice. He should communicate with camera 3 telling him to get different shots that are needed.
Technical Director: The technical director works with the director setting up the shots and switching between using the switcher board. He should know how to change between shots and use some different transitions. When the director tells him to set up a shot he queue’s it up and when the director tells him he switches between the shots.
During the past few weeks I have been working on the Rainman project. We filmed some car chase scenes. I also finished the shot plan for the multiple camera shooting project and started work on my news story. I filmed the evening fashion show and got some interviews with Mrs. Finch and some of the Hairstyling students.
